Who is Temple Israel Youth?
Temple Israel Youth consists of three different age groups:
Jr. Kadima is for all fourth and fifth graders. This group is
run by adult advisors with help from parents. A major effort is
made for social interaction with other Jewish kids.
Kadima is for all kids in sixth through eighth grade. There is
a Kadima board that has input into all the programs and has
diverse responsibilities. A wider range of programming, including
religious and social action are available.
USY is a group for high school students. All teenagers in ninth
through twelfth grade are eligible for USY. All programs are
decided by an elected board. USY stresses the importance of
leadership, Judaism and friendship. USY'ers have many
opportunities to meet other high school aged kids from our region.
At conventions, they are exposed to a unique Shabbat
experience, while in a safe atmosphere where they can express
their Judaism. International USY also sponsors trips to Israel and
around the USA.
